Applesass Custom Plush for :iconnazegoreng:

PROCESS
:bulletyellow: AJ is made from mango, sunshine and red minky.

Her eyes and cutiemark were embroidered with a Brother Innovis 750D embroidery machine, Madiera Rayon embroidery thread, and Bernina V6 embroidery software. The eyes were designed and digitised by me. Her pattern was also designed by me. Her hooves contain poly pellets so she can stand well on her own. She is 17 inches to the top of her head. She has flat hooves and 3d sculpted ears. She has wire in her tail to add support. Her hat has plastic mesh inside to hold it's shape.

Please do not ask for the pattern, under no circumstance will I be giving it out.

COMMENTS
:bulletyellow: Since Sydneigh (pony convention) is coming up for me and Ashleigh Ball is attending, I figured I should make an Applejack to bring along with my Dashie. I was also in desperate need of a simple plush to make after Smaug XD. I made a few tweaks to her pattern too, the pictures don't show it too well but I think she's the best mare body I've made thus far.

I love her sassy face (below) so based her expression off that, but gave her a smile to make her look cheeky rather than annoyed.

I'm super happy with how she came out. Definitely my best applehorse yet. I spent a fair while tweaking my hair patterns for her to get it just right. I've just finished making a pattern for Shining Armour so expect to see him, Dashie and AJ at Sydneigh if you are attending.

PLEASE zoom in to check out her details!

Sure! Did you have any particular manes in mind?

For AJ here you can see I split all her spikes into separate pieces, with the main piece having a gusset underneath it to give it body. Separating spikes on manes imo gives you far more defined spikes. I do the same with RDs hair. The main piece is just patterned by tracing that piece from the show in photoshop and adding a gusset underneath that thins to the front and thickens at the middle

For Pinkamena you really just want to trace a profile shot of the tail from a vector. Widen the thickest part a little to compensate for the curve of the fabric when you stuff it. Use satin stitching for the lines. Same with Mauds as their tails are pretty much identical. You don't need to do anything crazy for those tails :)
