V2 Rarity Plush

:bulletyellow: Rarity is made from white, violet, purple and mauve minky. Her eyes and cutiemark were embroidered with a Brother Innovis 750D embroidery machine, Madiera Rayon embroidery thread, and Bernina V6 embroidery software. The eyes were designed and digitised by me. Her pattern was also designed by me. Her hooves contain poly pellets, and she has wire in her mane and tail. She is 17 inches to the top of her head, not including her horn and hair. Rarity's mane was appliqued and satin stitched to give the dual tone effect.

Please do not ask for the pattern, under no circumstance will I be giving it out.

:bulletyellow: My second Rarity, and I'm absolutely in love with her. Certainly made a few improvements since my last. This girl is so glamourous XD.

:bulletyellow: Rarity is available for sale on ebay for the next week. Good luck to bidders! I hope she goes to a loving home.

Admittedly, I was a but surprised to see how much she sold for. Is there really such a market on eBay? I feel as if there aren't as many buyers out there anymore. Or that they're all avoiding eBay because of all the not-so-nice-looking made-to-order or mass produced plushies.

I've been trying to decide if I should sell one of my extra 9" Rainbows on eBay, but I worry that she would sell for far less than even my commission price. You have a larger following than me (probably because I don't interact with the community enough), but did you advertise her auction much, if at all?

I was extremely surprised too. I believe there is a market on ebay, but it certainly isn't predictable or reliable. Something could go up for sale one week and have no bids, and be relisted later and sell for a high price. It all depends on the market, who has money and whether you can get a good time when multiple people have cash to spend. People will definitely pay big bucks, but there is certainly a bit of luck involved.

When you are worried about selling on ebay, just remember to start the price off, or set a reserve at whatever your lowest price is. If it doesn't get any bids, offer it for sale for a set price, or offers on DA.

Advertising does play a huge part in it though. Ponies sell the best just after they have been submitted to DA, Equestria Daily, Reddit and other pony sights, and have received high traffic. People will often only look at a pony once, and only notice if it is for sale when they look at it for the first time. They won't come back to check if they can buy it if they didn't see it the first time. You want as much traffic to be channelled through the deviation to the ebay page as possible.

Having a good following helps too. It's all a matter of being active, and communicating with people frequently.

Hope some of that answers your questions :).

My plushes are 17 inches tall, not including hair, ears etc. I have had them sell both locally and overseas, just depends on who buys them :).

When I say big, I mean how popular are they? Do you make multiples of the same plushies, or are they one-ofs?

Oh sorry. I've only made 6 plushes so far, but they are always very popular when I put them up for sale. I do make new plushes of the same ponies by request, but I am not open for commissions at the moment :).

It really isn't fair. Sure it was nice to sell her for that much, but I would have loved to hear back from the owners. No idea how she's going in her new home.

Hope you get a real nice AJ, I bet you'll give her a great home.
